Barley- Chata


Awesome drink to boost lactation !!! Great for B vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants and so much more! It tastes amazing too!!!!!



1/2 cup Barley

1/2 tsp cinnamon or 1 stick

sugar to taste… or honey… or none ( I don’t add sugar)

4 cups of water


Simmer in a pot for 35-40 minutes. The barley will thicken and form a milky consistency. Let sit to cool slightly and strain barley from water. Keep water mixture and drink the way it is or add milk or almond milk for an extra creamy treat with Ice. 🙂 Yummy

Heart Shaped Shortbread Cookies

Perfect cookie to get your kids baking with you in the kitchen!!! No eggs so the dough is safe to eat at all stages of baking and easy to make!


2 cups flour

2 sticks salted butter (softened)

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract

*  if you don’t like almond or have allergies just use more vanilla 🙂

Preheat Oven 350 Degrees

Add butter and sugar to bowl and whip till smooth. Add extracts. Slowly add in flour 1 cup at a time till mixed well and dough has formed into a ball with hands. You can roll out dough using a floured surface and cookie cutters or simply roll into balls for a quick yummy snack time treat! Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes depending on size of cookie. Looking for edges to be slightly golden brown!!!
